Walter H. Pritchard, M.D. 1910 - 1982 Walter H. Pritchard was an MD, a distinguished cardiologist after whom the Walter H. Pritchard Chair at Case Western Reserve was named. A scholar-athlete at Hamilton College in new York State, he excelled in track and competed in the finals of the 1932 Olympic Games. The college's present track was named after him. He was co-author of the first report of a pioneering cardiac defibrillator device (the Beck defibrillator, described in: Beck CS, Pritchard WH, Feil HS.
